The Asian Banker Summit is the
preeminent gathering of senior executives and top professionals
in the financial-services industry in the Asia Pacific region. Since
2000, the Summit has been delivering the region’s most important
learning experience, featuring several separate conferences designed
to both educate and challenge industry leaders to achieve new frontiers
in their businesses and corporate processes. Each year, close to
500 chairmen, CEOs, executive vice-presidents, regulators and other
senior executives who gather at the Summit walk away with fresh
ways to approach their businesses and their roles as corporate chiefs.
In 2006, proceedings at the Asian Banker Summit will centre on the
theme of “unlocking the value of the institution”
through alliances, mergers and acquisitions and also through maximizing
the organic franchise of the organization through building customer
value.
The Summit will commence with a one-day Leadership Advisory
Forum for senior executives and decision-makers of leading
banks in the Asia Pacific region, followed by three of the most
important areas driving the financial services industry today.

ANCHOR CONFERENCES
The
InterBank Conference on Trade, Cash and Treasury.
This conference will feature all the key issues facing the “financial
institutions” business of banks today. Even as commercial
banks seek counterparties around the world, the global banks have
created products and services that enable domestic banks to provide
world-class services to their customers. The nature and demands
of what used to be called “correspondent banking” has
changed forever, yet this will be the first time that banks will
have the chance to make sense of the synergies between global and
domestic players.
The
Risk Management and Governance Conference.
Now in its fourth year, the Risk Management and Governance Conference
has matured into an intense evaluation of the practical side of
establishing sound risk management practices. In 2006, this conference
will focus on two areas that are foremost on the minds of chief
risk officers, chief financial officers, CEOs and regulators today:
Issues related to the balance sheet, the evolution of the CFO’s
role and the finance function in a risk-oriented environment; and
the impact of financial innovation, such as sophisticated trading
strategies and complex swaps and derivatives, on risk management.
The
Technology & Operations Council Annual Meeting.
This Conference is designed to meet the needs of senior management
– CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CTO/CIOs and other decision makers at
the corporate and business levels -- who are involved in deciding
upon fundamental infrastructure requirements to expedite business
goals. How are their peers making decisions on core banking and
related technology needs? What are the implementation issues? Delegates
will receive an incisive study from the experience of their peers
in the industry.
