Highlights
The Asian Banker Achievement Awards programme seeks to recognise the achievements of the individuals in the financial services industry on an annual basis. The programme is designed to recognise the tactical skills of leaders and highly talented individuals in the financial services industry based on specific achievements in the past year that demonstrates the ability to apply highprofessional standards in response to challenges in a fast changing marketplace.
This is a prestigious award that takes into account the performance of the institution, assessment of the leadership provided by the candidate in the year under review, and a peer review based on about 200 interviews.
A press release explaining the awards and providing the citation on a country-by-country basis will be released and will be circulated to all countries in the region.
The Asian Banker Achievement Awards 2008
Some 380 nominations were received from all countries in the region for the programme in 2007. Each nomination was quantifiably assessed by our research staff and a final submission made to the external panel of judges for their evaluation and validation of the process.
The external panel of judges was selected for their independence and familiarity with the financial services industry.
The Asian Banker IT Implementation Awards
For the second time, The Asian Banker will be presenting the prestigious “IT Implementation Awards” at The Asian Banker Summit.
This award aims at recognizing the best practices in the Asia-Pacific banks that emerge from the use of technology and make significant difference to the bank’s functional ability.
The nominees are banks that had successfully implemented or made fully functional their IT projects by the year 2007. The winning entries will also be developed into case studies and promoted as best practices in the region.
The winners will be honoured in March 2008 at the The Asian Banker Summit, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
One Day Briefing and Tour of Vietnamese Banks and Industry Workshops
Complementing The Asian Banker Summit in 2008, we have organised a one-day briefing and tour of two leading Vietnamese banks (for bankers from outside Vietnam), which has demonstrated leadership in several important areas of banking.
The Tour is for banks from outside of Vietnam which are already registered for one or more of the three anchor conferences. In order to secure a place on the Tour, Summit participants are encouraged to register their attendance early.
This is an excellent opportunity for senior bankers to witness current developments in the domestic financial institutions that operate in this sizzling emerging market.
