Perhimpunan
Bank-Bank Umum Nasional Swasta (The Association
of Indonesian Private Commercial Banks),
abbreviated to Perbanas, as continuation of Perhimpunan
Bank-Bank Nasional Indonesia established
on 25 May 1952 in Yogyakarta. It was established
with the objectives to enhance and to tighten cooperation
among the private commercial bank and to promote
and support for the development of National Banking
industry in order to create better conditions for
accelerating economic drive according to National
Development Scheme. |

The Asian Banker is holding its prestigious annual
Asian Banker Summit 2003 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
from 15 to 17 September.
Founded in 1977 as the professional and educational
body for the banking and financial services industry
in Malaysia, Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia
(IBBM) has been a leader in providing
industry-focused qualifications and training programmes.
The Institute, set up by the banking and financial
services industry, is governed by a Council comprising
representatives from Bank Negara Malaysia, The
Association of Banks in Malaysia, Association
of Finance Companies of Malaysia and Association
of Merchant Banks in Malaysia. |

Taiwan Academy
of Banking & Finance (TABF) was established
through the merger between the Banking Institute
of the Republic of China (BIROC) and the Banking
and Finance Institute (BFI) in May 2000. Both the
Institutes were originally set up twenty years ago
to serve the clientele of different types of financial
institutions in Taiwan. As the major financial training
and research institute in Taiwan and a foundation
operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry
of Finance, TABF has the mission of promoting education
and research in the field of banking and finance,
and improving professional knowledge and skills,
thereby furthering the modernisation of banking
and financial operations in Taiwan. |
