The Asian Banker commands a tremendous coverage of the retail banking business through its Excellence in Retail Financial Services programme. The programme enables The Asian Banker to monitor and benchmark developments in each country in the Asia Pacific region against global developments.
Pursuant to the research and findings from our most recent Excellence in Retail Financial Services programme, The Asian Banker will be organising a series of closed door Heads of Retail Financial Services Briefings and Business Dialogues in key cities across the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East regions so as to share the findings from our annual retail banking survey as well as to discuss how global themes are being played out in each respective market.
The dialogues are held over half a day to ensure the focused participation of the heads of retail banking at the highest levels. They are designed for leaders to discuss and feedback on Asian Banker Research findings, interact with invited guests and to exchange notes with their peers in a closed door session.
In each of the cities listed (see the list below), the sessions will feature:
- 15 - 20 heads and/or senior representatives of domestic and full-licensed foreign retail banks around the roundtable, and
- In addition, we expect another 15 – 20 observers from the represented banks and their partner organisations, making a total of about 40 selected senior bankers and partners in a very exclusive setting.
The small group setting enables high quality interaction and provides industry players with a unique opportunity to interact with decision makers at a strategic level and in a cost effective manner that they would not be able to achieve on their own.
We expect partner organisations to be represented at a similarly senior level; we do not allow selling of products blatantly, and we encourage partner organisations to participate in a meaningful way that they can build on after the meeting. For this reason, we welcome the opportunity to discuss the agenda with your organisation and work in your involvement either as a participant or a presenter of new information that can demonstrate your leadership in the marketplace.
The agenda is finalised through consultation with all participants prior to the event, and discussions are kept very sharp and succinct as it would be in a high quality board level dialogue.
The sessions are recorded and a proceedings report is circulated to all delegates after the meeting. The proceedings report from the meeting held in Shanghai on 18 March 2010 is currently being circulated.
The sessions usually attract CXO level executives, with discussions revolving around:
- Findings from The Asian Banker survey on retail banking in the region.
- Current global themes and ideas emanating from them.
- Developments in each market.
